"Habitat for Humanity is a hand up, not a handout."

Habitat for Humanity is an organization that works to provide decent shelter to those in need and to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness.  According to the official website,, the organization has helped to build “over 400,000 decent, affordable houses” and has provided aid for more than 2 million people worldwide.  As a campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity, we have the same goals and motivation to provide the same vital service to our neighboring community.  We have recently purchased our very own Sponsor House to be completed by current York College students, faculty, and alumni in partnership with our York City Habitat affiliates.  We have reached out to our community for help with fundraising and donations, as well as to inform them of our mission and plan of action for this great task.  York College Habitat for Humanity has been a hard-working and prosperous organization for many years and only once in the past has a project such as this one been completed.  We as an organization are dedicated to achieving our goal of completing this house for a worthy family.
